New hobby.... Thursday 18th June 2009, 7:21 PM
Well i felt like i needed a new hobby and most of my family drive, My mum, Sister and brother in law, my dad used to drive but im not sure for when and how that was achieved. The only part i hate is the cost so....
£15 to tax a year, a couple of quid a week on petrol, and a neat exhilaration factor I actually have to thank a friend of mine, Pete, who took me on the back of his, and was a fantastic ride! utter fun
Been searching scrutinously for a good quote and MCE beat comparethemarket.com confused, gocompare, Swinton, Group Armour, Ebike, and lots of other companies... its a little high but overall, it doesn't seem bad at all by comparison.
Im aware of the safety factor, but its for small journeys well, SDP... that is social, domestic and pleasure
I really have to thanks may people at work, especially Nick T, Craig and his cousin, David J, Neil and Shaun for taking such a realistic and positive approach to me joining a bikers life!
I got my licence just before my birthday and passed my CBT on the 10th of June so i needed a bike ASAP and got myself a CBR 125. less than 1800 miles since it was a showroom bike, custom paint job, not a spot of rust, and after adjusting the revs slightly, its a phenomenal bike.
And security? well it has smartwater, you'll have do you your own research on that, but either way, im getting my bike back should someone have hot fingers. Also a bomb of a lock, so it ain't going nowhere!
I found a couple of gay biker association but i want something a little less compulsory, than go on every bike ride (they state) so will have to look about. Found a neat guy on fitlads who's a very alike biker to me, same height weight, and bike too, so great for understanding, although he has a little more experience than me but hey... practice makes perfect!
if you see my bike, give us a wave... oh wait, probably better not to
First phasing: Layout. Monday 11th May 2009, 10:31 AM
Well I've managed to remove my design block, and am finally content with the layout of guyspot.co.uk. The previews are at guyspot.co.uk/new which will be up and down at times but am real happy with the outer elements. I've got to work on the sites design again, content-wise, but the workings of the site are all working a it's just a job of how the contents layout will look. I'm trying to find inspiration and extend my photoshop skiils as much as I can to give a look thats appealing, I also need to work with photos but can't when one camera I havnt bought and the other is in for repair!

DESIGN: Shifting roles Thursday 30th April 2009, 9:43 AM
While I have been out quite a bit with paul recently, I have been trying to come up with a design to better guyspot.co.uk, it's on the edge ready to take off and the intensity Is there to see how it goes, should if fail, that's not going to help to re-design and re-launch and re-insert faith into dissapointed customers. Paul offered to do a photo shoot to support some of the sites images. But as i stated the site cannot be a homo-erotic site that's going to offer horn in your moment of desperation, that's what Fitlads, gaydar, recon, gayromeo and many other sites are about.
I need something that's going to be unique, catchy, appealing, and what my first point was about - design!
I can't seem to get my head round design, it's not something you can study... Well you can but, inspiration comes from yourself, and you need the knowledge to strive away from tacky, generic sites, yet still has to be appealing, quick to load and not too image heavy...
Jack paul burton, a model? u are joking rite? get his bf to do it, would much rather that! Thursday 7th May 2009, 1:26 PM
Derek Hyams Thanks for your input but were looking for someone a but more masculine looking, Paul suits the role better. Although it is just a preliminary thought. there's a lot of work to be done, and positive comments would be greater appreciated. Thursday 7th May 2009, 3:31 PM
Graduation day! Tuesday 31st March 2009, 10:53 AM
This month has been a bit of a bugger since were getting some T-Shirt whorthy days, like yesterday, then you end up with a muggy day like today. There's not been too much going on recently, although I was happy to find out that I am a qualified web designer!
I've been working real hard coding from 12pm till 2am for two days so far on my week off to get guyspot.co.uk back, and it's gong really well so far, I just need to satisfy a lot of concerns regarding: security, copyright, safety, accessability, data protection, maintenance and future plans regarding bandwidth and cost.
I could just wing it, but I used to be a member of gayremix.com until it died, I kind of lost interest, although I dont know the complete story behind why it came offline since i spent a lot of time on there.... I'm also working privately with a client to build up my portfolio to get me on the Market. Companies that call me are looking for graduate degrees, not graduate certificates, so it's just all hard work here.
Some talk has gone into a product I bought last week, which is and R(ed)G(reen)B(lue) laser. About a year back websites I looked at sold the for around £40,000. This year I was scouring for a green one, and one thing led to another and the the prices of them have now dropped to less than 10% of that.
I seeked out a company on eBay that builds, sells and repairs these and after a bit of haggling I bought the laser, software, and cables required to get me started. I scoured the net for the software 'moncha' and managed to download a copy, and the images, text and effects you can create are pretty impressive. Simple text can change colour, flip, rotate, warp, animate, scroll.... Or any combination. You have simple shapes too, and also a design program for more custom, complex shapes. It's pretty easy to use, and will be a unique feature to advertise once I get into DJing slightly more, I need to realize that I need to bring something that other djs can't, and lighting is a good part of the atmosphere id say....
